Nephilim

Nephilim are typically half-human/ half-angel hybrids that were first discovered in The Great War by the Archangels.

During the war, many Angels such as The Guardians, Watchers, Cherubim, and more were sent to convert mankind to the new religion and influence events that would lead to Yahweh and Devil's victory over the Old Gods.

Though the Angels were taught utter obedience to the Celestial Gods, many could not help their compassion towards humanity as the war raged on, wiping out entire civilizations in its wake.

Some of these Angels would come to know humanity and even some of the Old Gods through pity, empathy, or love, and this would result in the first rebellion of the Angels against their Father and creator, Yahweh.

These Angels would come to be known as the first of the Fallen to Heaven's host, and, for a time, they were the number one target for the Archangels to capture or kill for committing the greatest SIN that an Angel could commit at that time: mating with mankind.

Birth of the Nephilim

During the chaos of the Great War, some of the Fallen Angels had managed to stay under the radar, forming alliances with their new human or Old God allies to hide and protect them from Yahweh and the Archangels.

Through this shared connection, some had formed romantic connections with their charges, ultimately leading to the birth of a new and powerful race that would come to be called, Nephilim.

The existence of the Nephilim as the 'Grandchildren of God', would prove a liability to Yahweh in his quest to become the one and only God to humanity.

These Angels had undermined Yahweh’s rule as the only ‘God of Creation’, so he sent his most loyal angels, The Archs, to hunt them down and destroy them all.

The Angels who rebelled were either captured or killed, while their Nephilim children were nearly driven to extinction.

Some managed to evade their hunters for a time, disappearing amongst humanity and hiding their abilities, while others simply could not blend in due to their inherent characteristics.

Nephilim Characteristics

There are a variety of unique abilities that can be expressed by Nephilim children depending upon their parentage and gender.

Parentage

There are two types of Nephilim, and each has a unique distillation of abilities based on who the Angelic parent mated with.

A human-angel hybrid will have super-human speed, strength, and reflexes like seeing in the dark and are typically larger than their human counterparts (especially the males).

They can also rapidly heal any injury and are very hard to kill.

Because they are relatively similar in appearance to humans, the human-angel hybrid is better able to blend in with humanity.

God-Angel hybrids are another matter entirely.

With the blending of two powerful species, these Dyadic Nephilim can express magical and Celestial abilities, can be born with wings, and are massive in size, averaging 8-10 feet tall. They do suffer from some abnormalities as the melding of species can result in undesirable mutations, but most will harness incredible powers that can be used to devastating effect.

Most of the God-Angel hybrids were wiped out during the Great War as they refused to go into hiding and would fight with their angelic parent.

Those who have God-Angel parentage often have strange eyes that glow white or a soft yellow.

Gender

Male Nephilim are inherently larger and stronger than their female counterparts, making them formidable warriors, while female Nephilim have magical abilities that allow them to tap into both Celestial and nature magics.

There are, of course, exceptions to the above, but what is known about Nephilim is that they are vastly unique and unpredictable, making them dangerous opponents on the battlefield.

The only common characteristic shared by either gender or parentage is that a Nephilim child will grow to adulthood within 11 years of their birth.

Where are they now?

All that is left of the Nephilim legend is just that; legend.

If any are left, they have hidden themselves from Yahweh and the Archangels who still hunt them centuries later.
